Throughout 2017 agency staff will strive to donate time of more than 1,000 cumulative hours to give back to their local communities. Any acts of volunteerism reported by employees of Santo Insurance will be logged and included in the total initiative summary.
Currently, staff and agents are involved in multiple organizations from board advisory positions to the service of food. The efforts are varied in type, but each one adds to the overall good of our local community. This year-long challenge will provide motivation for each employee to get involved, and stay involved, in missions of their choice, as well as, reinforce Santo’s mission of giving back to the communities that supported the agency for more than two decades.
In addition to their own volunteer efforts, Santo encourages the staff to find several projects each year, volunteering, coordinating and donating money and assistance to those in need. Staff take time off to go onsite to do projects like distributing and sorting food at NH Food Bank, acts as mentors at Special Olympics, shops, wraps and delivers food and gifts for needy families at Christmastime and plans a summer project with Habitat for Humanity or Building Dreams for Marines. Santo and his staff are thankful for what they have and endeavor to bring hope and happiness to the communities they serve.
Santo’s vision for the new Community 1,000 initiative is simple: taught by his parents at an early age the importance of demanding work, joy in accomplishment, appreciation for success and compassion for those less fortunate, he is determined to keep these ideals alive not only in his personal life, but also in his business. Modeling this behavior for each employee, he is allowing for all to contribute in their own small (and sometimes large) way.
With 25 years in the industry, Santo sees his vision coming full circle. He comments, “I have worked hard and will continue that trend building my business in support of my tremendous staff who truly are my family. I will continue to put the best resources in place benefitting my clients so they can protect their families and businesses.” He continues, “I am grateful every day for the opportunities this business has given me. I love what I do and love doing charitable work that makes a positive difference in someone’s life. With my next 25 years, I will continue to nurture my business, but will also carve out time to give back to the industry that has given so much.
