Importance of Developing Financial Goals

Set up a Game Plan

By Jamie Santo

During these past couple months, I have had clients, friends and family say they have truly reflected about what is important in their lives, as well as their business.

I will be honest and tell you I have done the same and it was no surprise to me that family and friends were at the top of the list.

The world has been running so hard for the past few decades that we sometimes feel like it is the same thing day after day. Work, kids events, meetings!!!  Not that we don’t love the activity and energy, but without running to soccer games, hockey, dance or band every night after work to watch our kids for a quick glimpse in action which is such an exciting part of all of our lives.  We replaced that with some free time to actually have a sit down family dinner, have a conversation with the kids, take a walk with a friend or spouse and maybe play a board game with the teenagers….. I know crazy some one-on-one time with the kids.

Something else that resonated with me were the conversations I had with so many people who were uncertain about their financial stability regarding their business and family.   With the volatility in the stock market and the news every night headlining Covid -19 infections and mortality around the world, the conversations were emotional and people were scared and are uncertain if what they are doing is correct in the realm of finances.

It was about a month ago when I was on top of a mountain during a hike.  I was separated from television and my phone and I looked around the beautiful scenery and I asked myself.  Jamie what can you do to make a positive difference in the world right now?  It was then that I realized this was the time for me to make a difference in the lives of my clients, friends and the communities I served by opening up conversations about financial goals to protect the people you love in your life and set up a financial game plan to achieve your financial dreams.

So many individuals, homeowners and business owners have never truly developed a financial plan to achieve their goals.  Some questions they asked me and you may have the same questions.  Do I have enough money to send my kids to college? What happens if I got hurt and could not work, how would I pay the mortgage? Am I putting enough away for retirement? Is my money in the right place?  What happens if I die?  How would my spouse and kids keep the home, put food on the table, stay warm during the winter?  If I am a business owner, do I have a succession plan if something happens to me?  Should my money be in the stock market or mutual funds?  Are there other options available?

As my business has grown over the past twenty five years and we help several thousand residential and business insurance clients every day, I wonder if the community, my clients and my friends know all that Santo Insurance & Financial Services offers for services to help them.

Starting Monday June 1, 2020,  Santo Insurance & Financial Services will be proactively reaching out to all clients to engage in a dialogue to find out how we can best serve your needs to protect your family’s financial goals.

Please have a conversation with my financial team and please set up an appointment to protect your business and your family should something unexpected happen.

My team of Walter Jezak, Ben Mitchell and Austin Hall will contact each of you to have a discussion on how we can bring the most value to your family or business.

I love what I do and I love helping my clients.   Please let me help you with these important decisions in your financial life.

I wish each and every one of you continued health and strength to get through these challenging times. The power of community, helping one another and those in need, is most important during difficult times.   I am not sure what each of you need or the questions you may have, but I feel it is my obligation to reach out to you and do my best to protect you.

Thank you for letting me be your friend and your insurance agent.  This is a responsibility that is of utmost importance to myself and my entire team at Santo Insurance.

We look forward to helping you.
